HIGH ISLE CHAPTER New Zone – High Isle Set sail for adventure in the Systres Archipelago! In this update, you’ll travel to High Isle and Amenos, two of the four islands southwest of Tamriel.
- To begin your travels to High Isle, you can choose from among the following:
- Create a new character and play through the Tutorial
- Enter the zone with an existing character by one of the following means:
- Use a Wayshrine to enter High Isle near the city of Gonfalon Bay
- Use a boat or cart outside Elden Root, Mournhold, or Wayrest to travel to the Gonfalon Docks
- Travel to a friend who is already in High Isle
- After you complete the Tutorial or otherwise arrive in High Isle, seek out the rogue Jakarn awaiting for your arrival at various locations in and around Gonfalon Bay. He’ll ask you for help in the Main Story and send you to meet with Lady Arabelle Davaux inside the city.
- In addition to the Main Story, the High Isle chapter includes the following activities:
- Six delves, four on High Isle and two on nearby Amenos, each with its own Skyshard, boss, and associated content
- Six challenging world bosses, including the terrifying Sable Knight occupying a ruined castle on High Isle, or the crafty Glemyos Wildhorn, a lord of the trickster faun race and master of their domain on Amenos
- Two public dungeons: The ancient Spire of the Crimson Coin, a source of great legends and even greater treasures, and Ghost Haven Bay, the last refuge of long-dead pirates and their vengeful captains
- Three new set crafting locations
- Nine full-length Objective quests
- Many independent content quests, unique distractions, and many other wilderness and city encounters throughout the zone
- Seek out large Volcanic Vents and engage in group, overworld content as you assist the druids in their efforts to calm the eruption. Volcanic Vents will appear with an icon on your map when they are active!
- Discover smaller Lava Vents and defeat the emerging enemies yourself or with friends.
- Earn special rewards for defeating these creatures and keeping the Systres safe for another day!
- Patron Decks
- Each collectible patron deck contains a unique patron token and associated deck of cards whose mechanics synergize.
- Review your collected and soon-to-be collected patron decks in the ‘Tales of Tribute Patrons’ Collections tab. There, you’ll see the powers offered by each patron, their starter card, base cards and upgrade cards.
- Expand your game options and skills by acquiring new decks with a whole new set of cards and patron. Each deck has a set of unique cards and patron that thematically and mechanically will offer a host of new strategy opportunities when combined with other decks.
- Select two of the four patron decks in a match and craft a strategy based around the cards and patrons you and your opponent bring to the game. A good player will have their plans ready, but the great players will be ready to adapt to the ebbs and flows of the game, adjusting to each situation and countering their opponent’s strategies!
- Patron Decks can be discovered in and around High Isle by partaking in activities, from public dungeons and world bosses to questing and incursions.
- Cards
- Every unlockable deck has some cards which can be replaced with new, more potent ones you may discover in Tamriel; some deck upgrade cards have abilities you won’t find elsewhere.
- These new cards can even be discovered or earned before you’ve unlocked their base deck, providing you with a little extra incentive to seek out those deck unlocks!
- Winning in Tribute matches against others grants a variety of rewards, including gold, transmutation crystals, motifs, cosmetics and even clues toward discovering those shiny new upgrade cards.
- Looking for a relaxed match for fun and profit? Queue up in the Activity Finder for a casual game against another player!
- Ranked Seasons with hefty rewards and leaderboards will be available with the full launch of the High Isle Chapter.
- If you have access to the High Isle Chapter, you can unlock the two Companions through completing associated quests in the High Isle zone.
- Once either objective is completed, the respective Companion collectible will be granted.
- These collectibles can be found in the Collections menu under the Allies category, in the Companion subcategory.
- You may have either a Companion or an Assistant active.
- Companion collectibles may be activated from the Collections menu or quick slotted for ease of use.
- Once unlocked, other characters on your account will need to also complete the associated introductory objective to utilize Ember or Isobel, but skill line, level progression and equipment are preserved on each Companion regardless which character summoned them.
- Each Companion possesses a passive perk ability which benefits you while the Companion is active, which can be seen via the Companion menu. This perk may also be permanently unlocked via Companion achievement accomplishment.
- Ember provides “Ember's Intuition” which provides a chance to acquire hidden wallets of gold when pickpocketing, while Isobel grants “Isobel’s Grace” which gives a chance to recover the pack of a slain knight when defeating world bosses, which may contain various supplies.
- Dreadsail Reef is a 12-player Trial off the coast and can be reached via boat in the northwest section of High Isle.
- The Trial includes a normal and challenging Veteran version.
- There are unique Item Sets within the Trial including Perfected versions only found in the Veteran difficulty.
- Unique Achievement awards are available for completing the Trial including:

UPDATE 34 BASE GAME Mundus Stones in Armory Mundus Stones have been added to the Armory system! Each Armory build will now save your current Mundus Stone and loading that build will grant you that Mundus Stone boon. The preview screen for each build slot will also display the Mundus Stone saved for that build. To aid in the transition to this new feature, when your character first logs into the game, whatever Mundus Stone you currently have will be automatically applied to all of your builds. You can still manually update any particular build later by loading that build, obtaining the desired Mundus Stone, then saving the build. And yes, the system supports builds that use the Twice-Born Star item set. AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) In Update 34 we have added support for FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0. This upscaling technology is available for all graphics cards and can be used to improve performance for those who are bottlenecked by their GPU while playing ESO. This can be used to get straightforward improvements in framerate, or to allow you to enable more demanding graphics settings like our Screen Space GI while maintaining similar framerates to what you had before.
- We recommend starting with Ultra Quality mode and lowering from there as needed as we have seen great performance gains with this alone, especially on older graphics cards.
- FSR 1.0 works best with higher quality antialiasing; we recommend setting your antialiasing to TAA if you enable FSR, but we support using FSR with any antialiasing option.
- Allies, mementos, emotes, and tools can be slotted to their corresponding wheels directly from their respective Collections menu category.
- You can now assign any emote to the existing quickselect wheel.
- The existing emote wheel when utilizing Gamepad Mode can now be used through the quickselect wheel keybind.
-
General
- If you have already switched your Launcher to Spanish prior to the High Isle update, you will need to temporarily switch to another language and back to Spanish in order to properly launch the game in Spanish. This will only need to be done once and not every time the game is launched.
- You may be unable to use the Travel to Player feature to follow groupmates to the Public Dungeon Ghost Haven Bay, the Delve Shipwreck Shoals, or several quest-related areas in High Isle. These areas can still be accessed normally (walking to them and entering through the door) but you won’t be able to instantly teleport. This will be fixed in a future incremental patch.
- Hidden Master Murzaga will currently disappear if you lose to them. You can either relog or leave/re-enter the zone for them to re-appear.
- VO may get cut off during some of the Tales of Tribute NPC quest dialogues.
- Clicking on the notification for unlocking a new Patron deck does not currently take you to that specific collection.
-

Monsters

- The Face of Change: Fixed an issue where you might get two different prompts on the door leading into the Ayleid ruin.
-
General
- Gjakerth Rockthrower is no longer as vigilant as he once was.
- Anvil's guild traders no longer refuse to deal with criminals. The whole town is rotten, I tell you! Rotten!
-
General
- Fixed an issue where enemies in the Rockgrove trial would drop Blackwood overworld item set pieces, rather than the trial item sets pieces.
- Death Stalks the Weak: Fixed an issue where grouped players simultaneously interacting with the Discharge Labrum could block one another's progress.
-
Quests
- The Dragonguard's Legacy: A grapple point on the western side of Storm Talon Temple is now easier to grapple to, rather than smashing your character’s face against the wall right below it.
- Order of the New Moon:
- Caska will no longer clip through Ranza if you elect to let her intimidate Kazann.
- Fixed an issue with Trial Master Zayri so she properly despawns after leaving the balcony, instead of being very forgetful and coming back to the ledge. Maybe she forgot her keys?
- The Dark Aeon: Joorahmaar will no longer be all up in your business after you resurrect at the door to the room.
-
Monsters
- Dragons no longer have a chance to remain hovering indefinitely.
- The Demon Weapon: The gate from being able to progress on the main quest if your next quest would be "The Tharn Speaks" has been removed if you are holding onto "The Demon Weapon" (and vice versa). Now if you are on The Tharn Speaks, the Abnur Tharn follower in Wormroot Depths for The Demon Weapon (gold armor) will not spawn until you enter the secret chamber (whereupon The Tharn Speaks' follower, black armor, will despawn). If you are not on The Tharn Speaks and have no Old Abnur, New (Older?) Abnur will be around the whole time.
-
General
- A pot of unlootable mystery stew is gone from a certain homestead. It was perpetually out of range despite being right there in front of you. Why do you confound me, stew? What dark powers deemed that I cannot sample your deliciousness? Why have they forsaken me? Who must I vanquish for this outrage?
- When you complete a given Antiquity Codex for a furnishing, said furnishing will now be available for purchase at an appropriate achievement vendor.
- Added NPC subtitles during the Scrying or Excavation tutorials.
- Adjusted the drop rate for the Grand Hattu Oynx lead and will no longer drop once the codex has been completed.

- You can now properly assassinate Galeri Hlaren.

- A Gathering Storm: A Spriggan near the backpack you're supposed to search will no longer run up and sucker punch you while reading.
- A Salskap to Remember: The audience is no longer floating above their seats. I've heard of being on the edge of your seat, but hovering over it has a very different context.
- Dark Clouds Over Solitude: Fixed an issue where you could not advance the quest when leaving High King Svargrim's chambers by wayshrine.
- Meridia's Brilliance: Priest Direnna will no longer show up in the world when not on this quest.
- The Gray Host: Added a ladder on the other side of the Undergrove door to indicate where you came from, even if you can't go back the other way.
-
General
- Fixed a number of inconsistencies related to directing you through the alliance sewer bases.
- The Aldmeri sewer base now directs you properly into and out of the districts.
- Fixed an issue in the Imperial City vaults that would throw an incomplete error message. Now it will properly tell you that you need key fragments or the associated key (which is made when you interact with said door while holding sufficient key fragments).
-
General
- Petting Samwise will no longer jitter your camera. I know the camera is excited too, but motion sickness isn't the way to express it.
- You will now be properly directed out of buildings in Markarth and its Outlaws Refuge.
- Taking Up the Mantle: Count Verandis Ravenwatch will now properly show up and you can have the conversation with him after completing Markarth's capper quests if you've already completed the achievement on another character.
- Note: This does mean you can have this conversation again on the character that initially completed the achievement.
- A Darkness Deep Within: Fixed an issue where you could see the effects of other players doing the keystone puzzle.
- A Feast of Souls:
- The final puzzle panel now properly shoots lightning to the keystone like the other panels do.
- Fixed issue where it was possible for Lady Belain to stop fighting while a Companion was out.
- After the Storm: Fixed an issue where the mine support pillars appeared broken before you whacked them with your magic stuff-destroying axe.
- Blood of the Reach:
- Reduced the map pin radius on the step to Go to Rebel's Retreat.

- The Despot of Markarth:
- Reading the Scouting Report is no longer group shared, and the book is available in the same place you found it after completing the quest.
- Rada al-Saran will no longer bamf out of the scene if you are standing too close to the platform while talking to him.
- The Study of Souls: Hidden scripting steps to rotate the crystals will no longer be visible in the quest tracker.
-

General
- Walks-Like-Thunder and Baxhit-Gah now have the proper boss rank set.
- Fixed an issue where dialogue with Choxith could appear prematurely.
- Sounds of Home: Fixed an issue if you ran out the timer on catching the ruby hopper, you would get a message saying you completed the step.
- Whispers in the Wood: Fixed issue where mini-boss Wither-Jaw might never spawn when you enter its lair shortly after another player defeats it.
-
General
- Fixed the name of the Lillandril guild trader Rinedel so it shows up properly on guild listings (rather than being listed as “Eafildil”).
- Fixed an old issue where you wouldn't see a group member's ally pin on the door while they were inside the College of Psijics Ruins and you were standing outside.
- A Pearl of Great Price: Valsirenn's theater where you discover K'Tora will no longer repeat if you die before destroying the Abyssal Pearls and run back through the area.
- Lauriel's Lament: Cleaned up some theater cues related to Lauriel's disappearing act toward the end of the quest, to prevent visual popping.
- Old Wounds: One of Tarnamir's conversations no longer assumes you've actually joined the Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood unless you've completed those quests.
- The Dreaming Cave: Fixed an issue where a dead priest was floating in the air. They shouldn't do that, in case it wasn't obvious, but necromancy doesn't play by the rules.
- The Queen's Decree: Minone's cage door no longer slams closed weirdly after the other prisoners are freed.
- Through a Veil Darkly: Fixed an issue where approaching Vanus Galerion in the Vulkhel Guard Mages Guild from the center of the room could sometimes disable his interactability.
-
General
- Gaenennor will no longer werewolf out, kill his attacker, and then go back to playing dice as a werewolf.
- Fixed an issue where you would be trespassing on the docks without actually being on the docks in Hew's Bane.
- Fixed an issue where you could leave a trespass area in Hew's Bane by jumping on a crate. As all good criminals know, you're not trespassing unless your feet are on the ground, right?
- Partners in Crime: The doors to the Treasury in Fulstrom Homestead will now remain open (visually) if you reload the client after completing the puzzle.
-
General
- The following abilities will now properly target Justice neutral NPCs:
- Deep Slash
- Meteor and its morphs
- Reverse Slice
- Soul Splitting Trap
- Stampede
