NEW: PROP MANIPULATOR DEVICE

This gadget offers the ability to control the visibility and collision of props, as well as override their health values and send signals when they are damaged or destroyed. It may be one of the most often requested additions ever. You can easily toggle the visibility of those props with transmitters and carry out a few other cool functions by just attaching the device to a single prop or making it become a volume to encompass any number of props.

NEW: ICON LIBRARY

A new collection of 90 icons has been added that may be linked to various devices to give your experiences some context and personality. These can be used to highlight significant locations on a map, direct players to certain locations or items, or provide background information for tools like the Capture Area. The devices which can utilize the Icon Library from this release are:
  • Accolade Device
  • Beacons
  • Capture Area
  • Explosive Device
  • Map Marker
  • Player Counter
  • Ball Spawner

PLAYER COUNTER DEVICE

To enable Creators to regulate the pacing and balance of games, the Player Counter device offers two significant new features: It enables you to determine the number of players in a particular area (with optional team and class filters), compare it to a target number, and then send a signal based on whether the comparison is successful or unsuccessful. It enables a signal to be sent each time a participant enters or exits an active game. This device is really powerful thanks to a ton of various settings and tiny adjustments, so make sure to read the complete documentation and spend some time tinkering to realize its full potential.

POP-UP DIALOG DEVICE UPDATE

With the help of the Pop-up Dialog tool, you may present information to players in a brand-new way! You may now create information boxes and tutorials, link dialogs together to create branching choices, and use simple markup within the text with up to two configurable button replies. Here are the markup codes you can currently use in the dialog text to format it:
  • - moves the text to a new line (Body text only)
  • {playername} - displays the name of the player viewing the dialog.

REAL TIME CLOCK UPDATE

Two new features for Real Time Clock:
  • You can now set the RTC to automatically repeat at set intervals of hours, days, weeks or months - a specified number of times or even infinitely.
  • You can now define a duration for the clock and have a transmitter fire when the duration elapses.

CREATURE MANAGER UPDATE

The Creature Manager device may now be enabled and disabled via channels, allowing you to easily construct escalating difficulty levels by switching between managers while playing. This is another much requested feature from the community.

MAP/SCOREBOARD UPDATE

The map and scoreboard have been changed to allow for simultaneous viewing of both screens and to do away with the requirement that map and scoreboard display be an either/or choice in the settings. When a player taps the Map key, the Map Screen Display setting in the My Island UI screen will determine which screen is displayed by default; however, they will be able to navigate between the two using tabs at the top of the screen. We've included a Display Overview Map option if you don't want players to be able to see the map for any reason; setting it to NO will just display "Map Not Available" when players switch to the Map tab.

CREATIVE NAME TAGS UPDATE

To assist Creators reduce visual noise throughout their experiences, a variety of new choices have been added to the My Island settings page, Team Settings, and Class Designer devices. These options provide users more control over when and how player name tags are shown. The old Player Names & Location option has now been renamed to Always Show Name Plates and the values have been renamed slightly:
  • Team Only > Always Show to Team
  • Always Show > Always Show to All
  • Always Hide > Always Hide (No change)
  • No (New option)
When set to ALWAYS SHOW TO TEAM, friendly players will always be able to see your Name Plate, but enemies will follow the rules set with the new options we’ve added. When set to NO, Name Plates will be shown to or hidden from all players based on the rules set by the new options:
  • Name Plate Max Distance
    • Causes Name Plates to be hidden if a player is too far away from an observer.
  • Name Plate Line of Sight
    • Requires an observer to have an unobstructed line of sight to see a Name Plate.
  • Focus For Name Plates
    • Requires an observer to actually focus on a player to see their Name Plate using the following parameters:
  • Focus Angle
    • Requires a player to be within this angle of an observer’s reticle to display the Name Plate.  Only functional if Focus For Name Plates is set to ON.
  • Focus Time
    • Requires a player to be within the Focus Angle for the specified length of time before their Name Plate becomes visible.  Only functional if Focus For Name Plates is set to ON.
